Abstract
•Type 2 diabetes mellitus continues to present challenges for primary care clinicians.•People with type 2 diabetes have multiple issues with adhering to treatment such as insulin administration.•V-Go insulin delivery device represents new technology that improves patient compliance and optimizes outcomes.
Managing diabetes mellitus and overcoming barriers to insulin initiation can be onerous for primary care clinicians. The V-Go insulin delivery device (Valeritas, Bridgewater, NJ) offers another solution for facilitating insulin initiation and maintenance. It is designed to facilitate adherence by mimicking normal insulin physiological properties and reducing patient burden associated with insulin administration.
