Abstract
Traveling can be a wonderful, exciting event, except when one becomes ill during travel. Cardiac patients can be especially susceptible to physiologic changes that occur with certain altitude differences, alterations to their daily routines, and other events. This article serves to educate clinicians on potential dangers for adult cardiac patients during travel and how to avert the risks. With careful evaluation, planning, and education, health care providers can optimize their cardiac patients for traveling and help to ensure their safe return.
