Abstract
Economic evaluation provides useful tools for structuring tradeoffs to be made when making decisions about using resources for health care-related expenditures. Many organizations have offered recommendations on how to perform these. Articles that report on the results of analyses following the scientific recommendations are more likely to be published. However, policy makers and organizational decision makers may or may not want the information in manuscripts that use the full scientific recommendations. These parties need to be able to discern between what is reported and needed for decision making.
