Abstract
People can find themselves in the unfortunate situation of living on the streets for a variety of reasons, many of which are beyond their control. One example can be seen in people who experience a traumatic brain injury (TBI), which can cause cognitive deficits and behavioral problems that, without help, can make it nearly impossible for them to function independently in society. Nurse practitioners can play a vital role in assisting this vulnerable population through diagnosis, treatment, and research.
