Abstract
The challenges of heart failure care are recognized by patients and providers. Patients experience debilitating symptoms and recurrent hospitalizations. Hospitalization rates are high, and the economic burden now exceeds $10 billion annually. Proven drug therapies are not consistently prescribed, advanced therapies are missed, and patient compliance issues are often overlooked. Using the top challenges as a framework, this article enhances the reader's confidence in caring for these complex patients.
