Abstract
If Florence Nightingale could travel through time and see nursing today, what would she think? It is an interesting question to contemplate. At first glance it might seem a question of entertainment value only, but on closer examination, it is a question that can invite us to pause, look at the world of nursing today, and think about. Are we happy with where we are, how we are perceived, and what we are contributing to the health and wellbeing of society? Do we have a clear sense of where we are going and what we have to offer in the changing healthcare system?
