Obstetric-related cases historically have sustained the highest median payment amounts to the person or party harmed. This article will discuss how the Legal Nurse Consultant can play an integral role in gathering, defining, and explaining medical and nursing data to create a clear depiction of events when a medical malpractice claim is presented. A brachial plexus injury case study is used to discuss the responsibilities of the Legal Nurse Consultant.
