Abstract
Leadership development resources are plentiful and span all modes of delivery ranging from self-help workbooks to graduate degree-granting programs. The competencies required to fulfill the expectations of the role are many and assorted. Yet, one of the most important areas, establishing a healthy workplace, is rarely included. This paper describes how a manager can empower staff via a healthy workplace intervention while also honing new leadership skills through experiential learning that occurs during all phases of the intervention.
