Abstract
Nurse leaders are essential in all areas of health care. Their visions for health care improvement and ability to inspire others to work to their full potential to realize these visions involve a tremendous amount of work and creativity. To maintain the strength and resilience needed to be successful, nurse leaders must also practice effective stress management strategies that help them remain focused, centered, and calm. Nurse leaders need to understand themselves in body, mind, and spirit to reflect on the balance of these aspects of self within them and determine where they need to focus to rise above the stress by rebalancing their internal and external healing environments.
