Abstract
Perioperative nurses are called upon to use their power of ethical analysis to decrease a patient's vulnerability and to benefit the patients under their care. Through a practice-based approach that focuses on individual patients within their actual context, the possibility of bringing this about, with the best possible outcome, increases. This approach also enhances a nurse's feeling of self-worth and pride.
