A somber lesson in patient autonomy

Jerry is not the typical southern Indiana male who enjoys fishing, hunting, and camping. He is his own man, making decisions for himself on the basis of his beliefs and values and not trusting the doctors and nurses who crossed his path after he fell 30 feet onto a concrete floor from a ladder as he wired a new building. He lived alone in a mobile home on 60 acres he had acquired through hard work and the dream of having his own place. He worked hard and played hard, and no one told him what to do!
