Abstract
Health care has developed into more of a business model, marked by the frequent elimination of advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) during redesign and re-engineering efforts. APRNs have often been perceived as an unnecessary expense given their indirect patient-care roles. In this cost-effective, outcomes-driven market, it is imperative for the APRN to understand how to build a business case illustrating the impact that the APRN has on improving clinical, financial, operational, and organizational outcomes.
