Einführung in die extracranielle Farbduplexsonographie

With color duplex sonography statements can be made concerning vessel walls and hemodynamics of extracranial arteries. In the hands of an experienced examiner color duplex sonography is a rapidly applicable, a repeatable and a meaningful diagnostic tool. The medical indications of this examination, the methodological basic and the rather complex instrument settings are explained. The author describes the most important physical principles and proposes a standardized examination protocol.
