Abstract
Nerve root lesions (radiculopathies) are mostly due to lumbar or cervical disc herniation. However, disc herniations in adults are common and in many cases do not lead to any complaints. Therefore, a careful clinical and electrophysiological examination is crucial not to overlook other differential diagnoses like radiculitis, neuralgic amyotrophy or a diabetic neuritis.
