Abstract

The purpose of present work is to obtain a detailed knowledge of load distributions during construction of high-rise reinforced concrete structures. An extended on-site measurements programme has been conducted in a multistory reinforced concrete building during its construction. These field measurements have allowed an evaluation of the influence of diverse factors on shore–slab interaction in the structure. The critical analysis described in this work provides much needed information on the magnitude and evolution of construction loads. In addition, the investigated structure has been modelled using different existing analytical methods. Their accuracy is checked by comparing the results predicted by these theoretical methods with corresponding experimental measured data. It is anticipated that this work will further the improvement and development of analytical methods.
