Abstract
The use of an event-to-event solution scheme for pseudodynamic testing is investigated in this paper. A standard pseudodynamic solution procedure is extended to include an event-to-event scheme. An adaptive event prediction method is developed using the local equilibrium energy error. The accuracy and efficiency of the standard and modified schemes are examined for a variety of problems. The analysis results show that numerical errors are controlled while decreasing the number of experimental load steps. The event-to-event scheme is shown to be suitable for pseudodynamic testing.
