Abstract
Decreased gliding of the extrinsic extensor tendons after a metacarpal fracture can be challenging to treat. From a functional perspective, it is important to obtain and maintain a full glide from the extrinsic extensor tendons, as many functional activities rely on full finger motion. However, if scarring has occurred as a result of a metacarpal fracture, such tendon gliding may be compromised.
