Abstract
Unexplained collective syndromes and measures of surveillance of indoor air quality in schools are increasing today. The associated health issues ask for appropriate answers, which classic investigations do not allow to bring. DGS and InVS developed, in association with numerous institutional and university actors, two methodological guides for the evaluation and management of these situations with the aim of bringing coherence to the modalities proposed in these two works. They both strongly underline the necessity of an interdisciplinary work on one hand to facilitate the crossing of the scientific points of view and on the other hand to assume the real interface with decision and action. Among the striking elements of these documents, it is advisable to note the contribution of social sciences, the constitution of a coordination unit, the structuring of the communication whatever the moment of the situation and the importance of the state of preparation of the local actors, in particular through the appointment of an internal referent for air quality.
