Abstract
For the effects with toxic effect threshold, the extrapolation consists in applying an uncertainty factor from 1 to 10; for the effects without threshold, the approach is based on a quantitative extrapolation by mathematical modelling, for an intake at the lower end of the dose-response curve. Many committees offer HTVs in data base on the internet. France has recently initiated a process for the development of her own HTVs.
