Abstract
- Current Descemet's detachment (DD) classifications are insufficient. Rarer variants of DD are not included.
- DD may be classified based upon etio-pathogenesis, clinical features, ASOCT and management protocol.
- It may be classified as rhegmatogenous, tractional, bullous and complex DD.
- Management algorithm is proposed based on classification and clinical and ASOCT features.
- Newer classification has therapeutic implications and improves understanding and prognosis of rarer types of DD.
- Select cases of tractional DD may be treated by relaxing Descemetotomy.
