Abstract
Luna was 8Â when she visited an orthoptist for the first time. She'd finally gotten into the second grade. We report her development over a 16-month period from July 2013Â to November 2014. She had a well-known problem: she was a poor reader. She complained of headaches and it took her a long time to read a few lines. The follow-up included an initial orthoptics work-up, an ophthalmology examination with retinoscopy, visual correction, orthoptic therapy, learning therapy, evaluation of maturity, and regular orthoptic exercises. Today Luna has completed the first half of the third grade. The visual complaint has disappeared as has the learning problem.
