Abstract
Before being able to engage the body in an action, individuals need to organise their posture, to resist gravity, maintain their balance and orient their body towards the action. Children with cerebral palsy are often impeded in the postural function essential for this preparation to perform an action. It is therefore necessary to take this into account with regard to their installation and to help them to adapt using either simple, standardised equipment or specialised and/or customised equipment which will enable them to express all their capabilities. Everyone must then take them into account in order to allow the child to use all his or her means.
