Abstract
Mr L. had Alzheimer's disease. He had visual and general disorders considered to be part of his general disease state. The orthoptic work-up led to the diagnosis of decompensated exophoria-exotropia contributing to the disorders. Orthoptic rehabilitation was conducted with care, optimizing the visual situation and leading to an involution of the symptoms. This clinical case illustrates the importance of taking into consideration the vision of people with Alzheimer's disease. Deficient binocular vision can cause an exaggeration of the problems related to concentration, a common symptom of this disease.
