Abstract
Prism correction is a tool not only for treatment but also for compensation or adaptation. The indications for prism correction are indeed numerous and varied but, above all, they require the extensive comprehension of the visual situation not only on motor but also sensory and of course functional level. Prism correction may also allow the patient to use a binocular function (binocular or uniocular sight) by compensating a deviation, or to use a sight direction when it exists naturally, or to help the patient use a sight direction more easily by, in fact, reducing a turn of the head, the causes of which are varied; or again eliminate a diplopia by facilitating the neutralisation of the image.
