Abstract
Further to mutual reflections between an orthoptist and an ophthalmologist, research was initiated within the framework of a dissertation for a university degree on “Specific learning problems” in Toulouse. In view of the difficulties encountered with a population of children with poor sight, the question of the possibility of the existence of a double handicap was raised: poor sight-problems at school. The aim of this paper is to sensitize professionals, working with children in difficulty, to the visual elements that could hinder learning and inversely on the precursor signs of learning disorders.
