Abstract
Replantation of hands has become common in various institutions. But, many problems remain in our context especially the quality of the preservation and real-time of replantation, making surgical care more difficult and thus undermines functional prognosis of our patients. We report five cases of replantation and revascularization of hands. It was a total amputation in two patients and a subtotal amputation in three patients. In all cases, amputation interested no-dominant hands, it was an open wound sitting in the front row of the carp. The average rehabilitation was 6 months and the patients were reviewed after 24 months at least. The functional results evaluated by clinical examination, the electromyogram (EMG) and scores The disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand (DASH) and Chen's criteria for replanted limbs were satisfactory, our patients have recovered a useful function in their replanted hand in daily activities, leisure and work. A need of early rehabilitation is stressed and these severe injuries require long periods of rehabilitation; for a good functional recovery, social and professional reintegration of these patients.
