Abstract
For the last 25 years, the field of neuromuscular pathology has become extensive: many diseases, acquired or genetic were identified on clinical, histopathogical and genetic basis for most of them. The care of genetic myopathies has improved, allowing reduction of morbidity and mortality of the most serious dystrophies. The knowledge explosion in genetics has allowed very promising therapeutics prospects, particularly regarding muscular dystrophies. Considerable advances were also obtained for acquired pathologies, in understanding their mechanisms as well as their diagnosis and treatment.
