Abstract
Acute ischemic infarcts of the left insular ribbon and lentiform nucleus are asymmetrically more common compared to mirrored counterpart regions, presumably due to more severe symptoms at presentation. Otherwise, distribution of symptomatic infarcts to the rest of the brain is roughly symmetric.
