Abstract
Periarticular heterotopic ossifications are responsible for joint stiffness and vicious attitudes resounding heavily on function. Nerve or vascular complications in type of compression can also be combined. We report a complex case of a patient who suffered from multiple injuries and was presented two years later with periarticular heterotopic ossification in elbows and knees that required a program supported with multiple surgeries and an appropriate care in rehabilitation. The evolution was marked by a functional improvement. The prevention of periarticular heterotopic ossifications in patients with central nerve damage but also by a device appropriate care rehabilitation can improve the prognosis. Once established, the surgical treatment of these ossifications is heavy and remains costly for society.
