Abstract
Treatment of amblyopia as currently practiced is sometimes “resented” by the parents or the children. Furthermore, this treatment requires a mandatory supervision that can make it difficult to apply. This is why compliance is often poor resulting in treatment failures. A new design of the mechanisms of amblyopia has to consider new treatments, achievable using video games on portable media (tablet or smartphone). Using few minutes a day with these fun activities and generally very popular these young patients can afford to hope for a better grip of treatment. These treatments are not recommended by the Learned Societies in France but are envisaged in some countries and not addressed in the medical press. What to think?
