Abstract
The detection of visual disorders in children is one of the major factors to be taken into account for the prevention of scholar failure. It is therefore essential to perform this screening in the most efficient way. In this regard, it is required that health professionals involved in this detection are trained so as to obtain the most satisfying possible results. This study proposes an analysis of the existing practices in Mother and Child Care centres on the one hand, and on the other hand an analysis of the different trainings performed by and for the health professionals taking part in the acts of visual prevention. Based on a methodology related to practices of training engineering in professional didactics, the results of the study reveal, both on the epistemic and pragmatic levels, several educational concepts upon which a new training scheme could be built. The study finally demonstrates that it shall prove convenient to integrate new contents in this training system in the future, since this system is directly related to day-to-day practices. The training project resulting from the findings of this study should allow one to convey the actual abilities that have been identified in the best possible way.
