Abstract
Of 5943 consultants, 2127 cases (35.8%) of degenerative musculoskeletal disorders were recorded. Of these, 453 cases (21.3%) with shoulder pain. The average age of patients in this group was 51.43 years with a sex-ratio of 0.54. The most frequent pathologies were tendinopathy of the rotator cuff and adhesive capsulitis which were recorded respectively in 346 cases (76.4%) and 97 cases (21.4%). In these two groups, female predominance was noted, with sex-ratios of 0.45 and 0.73 respectively. Diabetes was noted in 90 cases, with respectively (26%) and 51 cases (52.5%). Analgesics are prescribed in 85% of cases of rotator cuff tendinopathy and in 81% of cases of adhesive capsulitis. The difference between the population of rotator cuff tendinopathy and that of adhesive capsulitis is significant in terms of age, sex, number of rehabilitation sessions, history and number of injections during rehabilitation.
