Abstract
In a previous article, we have discussed the beneficial impact the presence of an animal can have on dependent or disabled persons in terms of physical well-being and prevention. The use of animals in the field of healthcare requires a careful conventional approach, such as currently proposed in France by a group called “Handi-Chiens”. This article also discusses the usefulness of pet animals in nursing homes in France where nearly one-third of the institutions harbor an animal.
