Abstract
The choice of the proper antithrombotic treatment in patients with atrial fibrillation has to consider the net clinical benefit of each drug. However, all non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants have a better efficacy/safety profile than warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation.
