Abstract
Advances in fetal imaging and in ultrasound have enabled us to develop a more precise approach to fetal cerebral anatomy, especially of posterior cranial fossa, in very early gestation. It increases significantly prenatal diagnosis of posterior fossa anomalies that have wide and variable spectrum and clinical expressions. Therefore, during levels 1, 2 and 3 ultrasound, we must be very vigilant in both anatomical and biometric ultrasound descriptions of the posterior cranial fossa and we need to investigate the referral diagnosis by fetal MRI, if necessary. The objective is to improve prenatal counseling in this type of pathology that has difficult diagnosis and prognosis.
