Overview of up to date treatment modalities of asymptomatic abdominal aortic aneurysm

This article summarizes basic information about the up to date treatment modalities of asymptomatic abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). It is based on data from recent respected publications, randomized studies and on European as well as American guidelines published by dedicated professional associations. The main aim is to clarify the differences in results of conservative, endovascular and open surgical treatment and also to present an objective view about the indication of optimal treatment modality for individual patients with AAA.
