Abstract
There is a good correlation MRI and surgicopathological findings in the high-risk group of placenta accreta. Nevertheless, conventional ultrasound with Doppler is still nowadays the gold standard. Placenta MRI is relevant in case of posterior placental implantation or equivocal ultrasound findings. A prospective study should be led on a large population to evaluate risk/benefit of diffusion weighted and gadolinium enhanced MRI to improve diagnosis and therapeutic management.
