Abstract
This study demonstrates that manipulation of digital mammograms could increase the information contained in them. This method, with due care and knowledge, can become a new diagnostic tool for use by the mammographer at the acquisition workstation, to suggest selective projections for specific areas suspected (by pixels density), not otherwise identifiable by eye. Its use in mammography screening may lead to a reduction in recall rate.
