Abstract
Cervical cancer is the first-most frequent cancer in women of sub-Saharan Africa and the first common cause of death from cancer in developing countries. The high rates of prevalence and mortality can be understandable by multiple stakes in particular, absence of strategies and effective programs of screening and treatment. Contrary to industrialized countries where locoregional staging includes clinical examination, ultrasonography and MRI, in developing countries, it is limited in the majority of the cases to the clinical examination. Ultrasonography, when it is realized, suffers from lack of optimal performance and data retention, nevertheless essential for the follow-up of the patients. MRI, which remains the better examination in staging, is rare and difficult to access.
