Abstract
Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the female population worldwide, and is among the most frequent causes of cancer death. In about 20% of cases, mastectomy is decided according to the cancer stage (large tumor, multiple localisationsâ¦) or other clinical considerations. Immediate or delayed reconstructive surgery can be performed, including based-implants reconstructions, various autologous flap reconstructions as latissimus dorsal flap or deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap, with or without lipofilling. The aim of this work is to review the main imaging features of pre- and postoperative autologous flap reconstructions associated or not with implants or lipofilling, with a special focus on DIEP flap procedures. The main early and delayed complications are described, as DIEP imaging follow-up is now mandatory to detect infra-clinical cancer recurrence.
