Abstract
Twins and multiple pregnancies (3.5% of all births) comprise 25% of all premature neonates, 25% of small neonates for gestational age, and a 30/1000 rate of neonatal mortality. Since monochorial twin pregnancies show a articularly strong relation to these complications, the sonographic diagnosis of chorionicity is of great importance. In this review, we describe the onographic appearance of this diagnosis, which is particularly effective uring the first trimester of pregnancy.
