Abstract
MRI of the endometrium could amount to three particular radioclinical situations. The ideal situation for radiologist consists of the realization of the preoperative assessment of a proved histological lesion. Outside this main indication, particular radioclinical situations can generate MRI need before having the histological results for the exploration of uterine bleeding when endovaginal sonography shows an endometrium thickening. The orientation benign/malignant is based on morphological criteria in MRI. Also, the kinetics of enhancing or the apparent coefficient diffusion has a value of orientation without replacing histology. Finally, the fortuitous discovery in MRI of an endometrial lesion imposes to the radiologist's knowledge of the MRI semiology of organic or functional endometrial lesions. These indications ask the question of the role and the value of MRI in the detection and the characterization of endometrial lesion.
