Abstract
Considering the therapeutic and predictive impact on local recurrence of multifocality, and especially of multicentricity, additional lesions detected on MRI require characterization before conservative treatment. After MRI, second look ultrasound visualizes approximately 60% of isolated breast enhancement, among which 50% are benign lesions. The probability of malignancy for enhancement detected on MRI is two times higher when found in the workup of a breast cancer. The correlation MRI-ultrasound must be accurate before performing biopsies; otherwise or in case of negative ultrasound, the percutaneous or surgical biopsies must be guided by MRI or CT.
