Abstract
The overall mortality of acute pancreatitis (AP) is 4 to 10% and may reach 25% in severe forms. The particularities of biliary pancreatitis have not been stressed or specify in different studies. We have included 49 cases of biliary acute pancreatitis. Predicting mortality was significantly correlated with age over 70 years (P = 0.005), a RANSON â¥Â 5 (P = 0.014), a BISAP â¥Â 3 (P = 0.009) and an APACHE II â¥Â 20. This entity of acute pancreatitis deserves more precision in its assessment and determination of its prognostic factors.
