Abstract
The elaboration of a “plan Blanc” is compulsory for every public or private structure of care under the responsibility of the director of the establishment. The lack of training participates in the development of preconceived ideas. We tried to specify the level of formation and knowledge of the staff in this study. A poll was realized with 88 people in intensive care units, gynecological surgery, emergency operating theater, and emergency department. The global level of knowledge is average. The students and staff of less than 36 years old seem to be in greater difficulties. Concerning perception of the risks, we note an overestimation of the nuclear and radiological risk and an underestimation of the pandemic risk. Concerning the motives for activation of the “plan Blanc”, there is an underestimation of the main motives (catastrophic accident, sanitary crisis and catastrophic event) and an overestimation of situations non-taken in charge by the “plan Blanc”. Efforts in the information and in the staff training particularly to the youngest are needed. The realization of practical updated documents for the staff seems to be a first essential measure. The realization of a “life-size” test seems to be a good objective. It is important to maintain the efforts of training and reflection to guarantee a good reactivity of the staff in front of collective risks to which we are exposed.
