Abstract
Early rehabilitation in colonic surgery programs decreases postoperative complications and accelerates the recovery of functional patient autonomy. These positive effects require a convergence of medical practices towards a common goal of surgical stress reduction. Thus, during surgery different anesthetic strategies must combine sparing morphine consumption, fluid therapy optimization and limitation of hypothermia, to reduce the deleterious response of surgical stress patient. The patient is so conditioned at best, to receive postoperative early nutrition and physical therapy. These positives clinical results require effective perioperative collaboration between surgical and anesthetic teams.
