Abstract
A 28-year-old African patient was admitted to the emergency department for abundant macrosopic hematuria with no other clinical symptoms. She is known with a sickle cell trait. Clinical tests revealed the existence of renal papillary necrosis. The association between this diagnosis and sickle cell trait is discussed.
