Abstract
As the first step to answer the challenge, this paper has developed BNF (Backus-Baur Form) representations of semantic mappings based on identified heterogeneity. The BNF representations, including major definitions of access to data sources, semantically identical objects, semantically not similar objects, composition and arithmetic mapping, are transformed into XML format and validated by a case study.
