Abstract
Few cases of metformin self-poisoning are described in the literature. The metabolic disorders observed in our patient were attributed to metformin poisoning due to the absence of a previous chronic condition and the lack of acute decompensation. Severe hemodynamic imbalance was directly to the intensity of the acidosis. Continuous veino-venous hemodiafiltration enabled correction of the metabolic acidosis and the improvement of the hemodynamic disorders with extraction of the metformin.
