Abstract
The construction and public works industries are involved in a wide variety of activities: construction, maintenance and repairing of buildings, bridges, highways, railroads, etc. These jobs expose them to many sorts of dusts and other materials. In spite of mechanization, contact with wet cement continues, especially for those working on small jobs. The work is carried out under difficult conditions, including heat, cold and wet weather. Occupational diseases of the skin in the construction sector have paralleled industrial development.
